In Risk Barclays develops, recommends, and implements controls and cost-effective approaches to minimise Barclay's risks, identifies and analyses potential sources of loss to minimise risk and estimate the potential financial consequences of an occurring loss.

Join us in this exciting new role as a Senior BCBS239 / RDARR specialist. In this role you will be responsible for

•    Act as the Barclays Europe Independent Validation lead for all issues BCBS 239/ Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting (RDARR) related
•    Go To person for Barclays Europe Chief Risk Officer and MD Permanent Control for BE specific BCBS 239/RDDAR assurance issues
•    Ensure Barclays Europe specific assurance coverage is provided by Assurance teams
•    Review and challenge Barclays Europe specific Assurance outcomes received from Assurance Teams, supported by AVP
•    Support/perform Barclays Europe Data review and challenge activities
•    Attend BCBS committees and related fora and BE Data Council committees as appropriate
•    Present any BCBS239 / RDARR Barclays Europe specific MI, artefacts, heatmaps etc to senior management / committees as required          
•    Provide BCBS239 / RDARR oversight and final sign off of Conformance / Risk Review Plans
•    Ensure that any work completed draws appropriate conclusions that are properly reflected in recommendations and reports

To be successful as a Senior BCBS239 / RDARR specialist, you should have experience with

Purpose of the role

To oversee that the bank operates in adherence to established framework, policies, and standards, laws, rules, regulations, and internal controls.

Accountabilities

  • Analysis of processes, transactions, and activities across various business units to assess adherence to policies, regulations, and internal controls.
  • Interviews, documentation review, and data analysis to gather evidence of compliance.
  • Identification and reporting of deviations or non-conformities, documenting findings and recommendations for corrective action.
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend enhancements to strengthen the control environment.

Vice President Expectations

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
