Barclays Bank UK PLC (“Barclays UK” or “BUK”) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Barclays PLC and the ring-fenced bank within the Barclays Group. Barclays UK includes Retail Banking and Business Banking and is central to the Group’s strategy.

As part of orderly succession planning, Barclay UK is seeking applications for appointment to its board as a Non-executive Director. Applicants must meet the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to the ring-fenced bank in respect of independence and the number of director roles held by them. In addition, the must have the ability to provide strategic oversight and independent challenge based on relevant experience.  Targeted attributes/experience include:

• substantial experience in retail banking, including understanding customer dynamics, regulatory environments, and operational challenges;
• extensive expertise in technology, spanning both digital consumer environments and complex enterprise systems;
• deep understanding of SME dynamics;
• proven track record in business leadership, ideally with P&L ownership, strategic growth and customer-centric transformation experience.
