See another side to Barclays in Radbroke

Our Radbroke campus, just outside Manchester in the North West of England is a remarkable place. Home to c.6,800 people, it’s in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, and at the centre of our global operations.

A workplace like no other

This is no ordinary place to work. It’s unique amongst Barclays’ locations, anywhere in the world. Centred around Radbroke Hall, a Grade II listed country house with fascinating history, it is set in 64 acres of lush gardens, full of wildlife, with the Red Brook meandering through it.

A commitment to sustainability

Soon things will be even better. We’re undergoing a major redevelopment to create a world-class, truly collaborative workspace with sustainability at its heart. Our aim is to deliver an inspirational people-focused space in which to work, rest and play. As part of Barclays commitment to be a net zero bank by 2050, we’re putting sustainability initiatives at the core of the redevelopment programme and re-greening large areas of the site.

A place with so many opportunities

The work we do touches so many aspects of Barclays’ global operations that we need talented people to work in a wide range of roles. And our unique position at the heart of the business opens up the whole world of Barclays for our people. Becoming part of our team means having the option of a long and varied career, not just signing up for a single job. Our campus is a hub for early careers development, but whether you’re an apprentice or a seasoned specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to shape your own personal career path.

A tech hub for Barclays

Everything we do at Barclays relies on technology. Barclays’s systems manage about a third of all money transacted in the UK every day. So every part of our tech community has an impact on the lives of millions of people daily. A lot of that work is happening here. We are Barclays’ largest technology site and a critical tech hub, both in the UK and globally.

A centre of excellence and innovation

Radbroke is home to our state-of-the-art Command Centre, where the systems, applications and platforms behind our operations are monitored, managed and maintained. This is also a key hub for innovation across Barclays, envisioning the future of banking. There are multiple teams and technologies to explore, constant opportunities to develop new skills, and the chance to learn from colleagues with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

A community at the heart of the North West

Barclays is one of the largest employers in North West England. We value the people and opportunities that make this diverse and vibrant region so special. We engage with schools and colleges, providing inspiration, education and opportunity to local young people. And we work hard to ensure that we support local suppliers and offer local businesses retail spaces on campus.

A culture that allows you to be you.

This is a place where you can be your true self and be valued, for who you are, and the contribution you make. The work we do is serious and high profile. Our people are focused, professional and ambitious. But our culture is informal, relaxed and caring. Everyone matters and everyone counts. That’s why Diversity & Inclusion has such a key element in our culture.

A place where colleagues create community

Our campus is a living, breathing, ever-evolving community shaped by colleagues for colleagues. There are all kinds of opportunities to socialise and pursue personal interests, from beekeeping and boardgames to running clubs and yoga classes. We place huge emphasis on health, wellness, accessibility and authenticity. And we’re committed to giving back to, and being part of, our local community. From fun days to firework displays, our events attract the families and friends of colleagues and raise thousands of pounds for charity.
