Our Cyber and Security team are central to defending the bank (DTB) So you'll have the opportunity to play a key part in keeping our customers, clients and colleagues safe in a world full of 21st century digital threats. Defending the bank can be reactive or proactive, and whether you're placed in strategic intelligence, operational or tactical, we'll give you all of the resources you need to kick-start a career in one of the most impactful areas of the bank.

What to expect
From day one, you'll take part in structured onsite training designed to build your confidence, banking knowledge and understanding of what great customer service looks like. You'll learn about Barclays' products and services, regulatory requirements, customer vulnerability, financial crime prevention, and how to identify the right outcomes for customers.
As your knowledge and confidence grow, you'll begin supporting customers through our telephony channels, acting as the first point of contact for a wide range of everyday banking needs. You'll spend time understanding each customer's circumstances, asking the right questions, and providing tailored solutions that help them achieve their goals.
In a Customer Care role, you could:
- Support customers with day-to-day banking enquiries, including payments, cards, accounts and digital banking services.
- Help customers navigate important life moments such as starting work, going to university, buying a home, managing family finances or planning for the future.
- Build trusted relationships by understanding individual circumstances and recommending products, services and support that meet customer needs.
- Identify customers who may require additional support and ensure they are directed to the most appropriate specialist teams.
- Work collaboratively across multiple business areas to resolve customer queries and deliver the best possible outcome.
- Develop a strong understanding of risk, compliance and customer protection, ensuring every interaction is handled fairly and responsibly.
- Use customer feedback and insights to help improve our services, processes and overall customer experience.
As an apprentice, you'll develop valuable skills in relationship management, communication, problem solving and decision making, while gaining experience of how Barclays supports millions of customers across the UK. You'll be empowered to take ownership of customer interactions, make a meaningful impact, and contribute to delivering excellent customer and colleague outcomes.
By the end of your programme, you'll have built a strong foundation in customer relationship management, developed commercial awareness, and gained the experience needed to progress your career within Business, Customer and Retail Banking and the wider Barclays business.
