What to expect
Our one-year Advanced Analytics Expert Programme focuses on helping you develop specialist advanced analytics expertise. This is an opportunity to work with really big data – data concerning up to 24m customers – and it’s what makes our work so challenging, interesting and rewarding. We’ll help you gain technical skills, including programming, modelling and visualising data using sophisticated market-leading platforms and tools. We’ll also support you to develop important consulting skills, such as understanding and solving problems, turning your insights into actions, and presenting data-driven findings to stakeholders. You’ll be responsible for delivering hypothesis-driven analysis on a range of data sources across key business issues relating to Barclays’ customers, markets, products and channels. You’ll also be using advanced analytics to deliver analytical ‘deep dives’ and create data assets that drive the performance of the bank, enabling smarter, faster, and more proactive decision making across BUK.
“I chose the data and analytics graduate scheme, as it gave me the chance to develop my coding skills in a variety of different languages whilst working on important big data projects that contribute to the bank's success. I felt the environment would help me best understand and enjoy working within data and analytics. Initially I was worried that my lack of programming experience would hold me back during work, but since joining the programme I've quickly developed the skills needed to work on projects, using Big Data that make a difference and have real-world impact” – Daniel Coleman 2022 BUK Graduate Analyst.
