About the role
This is your opportunity to take your first steps into the fascinating world of international private finance. Join this team and you’ll gain expertise in key financial markets. You’ll gain a deep understanding of the Barclays Retail business, and have a close relationship with the Corporate and Investment Bank. And you’ll help provide smart solutions for clients with particularly complex financial needs.
What to expect
During our nine-week internship programme, you’ll find your way within our Wealth Management function, learning what it takes to build strong client relationships. You’ll take on responsibility from day one with a line manager to guide and challenge you, and a buddy and mentor to support you as you build your knowledge and skills. Working with colleagues across teams and across diverse businesses, you’ll be fully encouraged to explore new opportunities. Many of our interns take on additional projects, work shadow and network in different teams to make the most of their experience with us.
How you’ll develop
You’ll be surprised by what you can achieve in one summer. From beginning to end, we’ll do everything in our power to make sure you get the very most from your internship.
We’ll surround you with challenging projects and opportunities to grow and learn: you’ll be given real responsibility from day one. We’ll keep you motivated with encouragement, feedback and support as you build your leadership skills, technical know-how and business acumen. We’ll help you connect with mentors, and network with colleagues and senior leaders alike. You’ll get the chance to give back to the community through volunteer events. And if you really impress us, this could be the beginning of an incredible career. We invite top-performing, eligible interns to join us as full-time analysts after graduation.
Who thrives here
We welcome people of any educational background, but you should have a keen analytical mind and a strong interest in finance. You’ll be curious and creative, agile and adaptable. You’ll be great at communicating and collaborating, competitive but caring. Motivated by pace and pressure, you’ll be driven to achieve — and to do it right. You’ll also be ready to develop a deep understanding of what we do, why we do it, and how your role impacts on our business outcomes. These are qualities that people at Barclays have in abundance, and we’ll help you develop and strengthen them from the day you arrive.
