Think differently about your future

Our apprentices bring us fresh ideas, boundless energy and new perspectives that help us shape our business. Many of them are now in senior roles, driving our business forward. All of them are thoroughly set up for rich and rewarding careers with us. Apprentices at Barclays are transforming their careers. At the same time, they are transforming our business, our culture and our future.

You’re setting out on a significant journey with us – up to 4-5 years, depending on your programme – and we invest in your development at every step. That starts with our market-leading Talent Coach model: from day one, you’ll be assigned a talent coach matched to your needs and background, and together with your people leader, they’ll support you as an individual. We’ll also match you to an expert in your specialist subject, ready to share their knowledge.

You’ll also learn a lot from your team too in your full-time role with us. Whether you’re improving our mobile banking app in Technology; learning our regulatory obligations in Functions; or analysing the data behind our transactions in Operations, you’ll be doing real work, gaining impressive experience, and learning from the colleagues around you.

Then, there’s your studies – either a degree or a professional qualification. Either way, you’ll have ring-fenced study time to help you balance your workload, and e-learning to help you study in a way that suits your lifestyle.
