In a role in Product Development & Management, you'll oversee our entire product lifecycle. Your responsibilities include gathering and prioritising product and customer requirements, defining product vision, and ensuring successful delivery and ongoing performance.

Join us as a VAM Product Owner, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering Barclays’ new Virtual Accounts (VAM) solution, a multi-year, multi-million-pound programme.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end product lifecycle, shaping business requirements across multiple outcomes, defining features and user stories. Collaborating with technology, sales, and functional teams to deliver a world-class client experience.

Essential skills/basic qualifications:

  • Proven track record of end-to-end product ownership, driving vision, delivery, and measurable outcomes.

  • Deep knowledge of client requirements and expectations across digital channels, with the ability to translate these into effective product strategies.

  • Demonstrated expertise in shaping and delivering exceptional customer experiences, with a clear understanding of the strategic value of customer-centricity.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and build trusted relationships at all levels of seniority, including executive leadership.

Desirable skills/Preferred qualifications:

  • Industry and competitor knowledge of digital solutions, electronic payment and reconciliation solutions and virtual account solutions

  • Hands-on experience applying product management to enhance customer experience

  • Operating in a dynamic complex multi-disciplined business environment where change is constant and demanding

  • Strong problem-solving skills, reliability, and a proactive approach to ownership

This role is based in Knutsford, Canary Wharf or Northampton.

Purpose of the role

The Virtual Accounts and Receivables team are delivering the new Barclays Virtual Accounts (VAM) solution. This is the result of a multi-year, multi-million pound programme to deliver the new solution. VAM will enable clients to replace and rationalise physical accounts, create complex virtual account structures and streamline their receivables and payments processing.

The team also have responsibility for Barclays’ Multi Account Platform (BMAP) which is used by our clients to manage their customer’s monies.  BMAP provides a crucial platform for clients in the Professionals sector, Property Management, Solicitors, Local Authorities and more.  While we migrate clients from BMAP to VAM, the team will need to ensure the BAU running of BMAP.

Accountabilities

  • Own the product readiness plan and support the delivery of the client and operational readiness plan as part of the wider Business Readiness plan. Executing against those plans to ensure a world-class delivery of the new product for both clients and internal colleagues.
  • Support in the delivery of user acceptance testing as part of the technical readiness activities for new product development. Ensuring the testing is suitable to prove system readiness.
  • Support our Digital Design and Customer Experience colleagues in research, design and delivery of a world-class solution, including on-going monitoring of client experience.
  • Monitor and track the new client pipeline and support onboarding requests to ensure Origination & Sales teams complete all necessary scoping and controls prior to client registration.
  • Supporting the implementation of complex client on-boarding cases. Supporting operational and relationship colleagues in the delivery of a world-class onboarding experience.
  • Own periodic Product Reviews and oversee regulatory compliance, adherence to operating model and ownership of regulatory impacts. Ensure products operate all controls effectively and adhere with all aspects of the product lifecycle.
