Embark your transformative journey with Barclays as an Engineering Lead. You will lead the development and optimisation of our Digital Channels on the AWS Cloud Platform. This role is perfect for an individual with a strong technical background in cloud architecture, digital platforms, and engineering leadership. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge digital solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability in the AWS cloud environment. You are also required to manage team of engineers while collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to build innovative, cloud-based digital experiences. 

To be successful as an Engineering Lead, you should have experience with:

  • A proven track record of a technical leader, guiding engineering teams to deliver complex projects.
  • Strong programming skills in languages Java microservices and strong knowledge about native and hydrid mobile application development.
  • Experience with [relevant technologies/tools, e.g., cloud platforms, databases, version control systems].
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

 • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

• Previous experience in building scalable and high-performance systems.

• Prior experience working in a leadership role within an engineering team.

This role is for Pune location.

Purpose of the role

To provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions.  

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of business unit financial strategies, plans and budgets, using insights to evaluate the financial implications of strategic initiatives and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Development of financial models to forecast future performance, assess investment opportunities, and evaluate financial risks for business units, and to analyse the impact of business decisions on financial performance and provision of recommendations.  .
  • Cross functional collaboration to provide financial insights and guidance to business unit stakeholders.
  • Identification of opportunities and implementation of financial process improvements that streamline financial operations.
  • Support to business units in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, including provision of training and guidance to business units on financial risk management and compliance practices.
  • Analysis and presentation of financial data to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
