Join us as an Associate, where you will lead the Regulatory Reporting team in the preparation, submission and automation of Corporate & Investment Banking regulatory returns, as well as exposure reporting for local and Group Credit Risk teams. You will provide oversight of regulatory and credit reporting activities, manage key stakeholders, strengthen the control environment, drive process improvements and lead the delivery of automation initiatives. You will also manage and develop the team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of regulatory submissions and effective operational processes.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Lead and oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory returns and credit exposure reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness and adherence to agreed SLAs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for Investment Banking regulatory reporting, including GPB, NOP-INR, FTD, investment reviews, CBWT and other applicable regulatory returns.
  • Provide oversight of 100+ regulatory returns, including CRILC, RLC, LEF, RAQ, DSB XII, PSL, CIC Reporting and RBS returns.
  • Ensure regulatory filings are aligned with regulatory guidelines, Barclays standards and policies, while proactively identifying and resolving reporting issues.
  • Lead and support regulatory reporting automation initiatives, including RBI ADF and RBI CIMS projects, working with Technology and other stakeholders on requirements, BRDs, functional testing and defect resolution.
  • Oversee credit reporting activities, including exposure reporting, reconciliations between system extracts and financials, data input and timely escalation of issues.
  • Build effective relationships with Finance, Credit, Coverage, BIU, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Technology, Audit and external vendor stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic assessments of the control environment, identify missing or weak controls and drive appropriate control improvements.
  • Manage, motivate and develop the team, promoting ownership, accountability and delivery excellence.
  • Drive continuous improvement, simplification and efficiency across reporting processes while maintaining a robust control framework.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurately under pressure.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in Regulatory Reporting and/or Operations Support activities within a banking or financial services environment.
  • Experience in preparation of MIS, dashboards and management reporting, with strong system and data understanding.
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting guidelines and change management principles within a banking environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse, aggregate and interpret large volumes of data using MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of risk, controls, reporting processes and operational governance.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation and decision-making skills.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills, including the ability to develop and motivate team members.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Graduate / Post-Graduate / MBA qualification.

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Banking and Financial Services industry experience, particularly within Corporate & Investment Banking Operations.
  • Knowledge of Barclays business areas, key priorities and challenges.
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk, Country Grades, Exposure Guidelines and relevant Group Policy Guidelines.
  • Understanding of banking products and services.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting automation, change and transformation initiatives.
  • Strong relationship management and customer-centric approach.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, information-gathering and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive approach, high integrity and strong personal accountability.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
