Explore locationJob Title: Apply - Engineering Lead
Location: Chennai
• To help conceive, design, develop & deliver innovative IT solutions to provide payment acceptance and processing services to Barclay’s merchants.
• To lead components of system engineering activity for applications / products across the end-to-end software development lifecycle.
What will you be doing?
• Driving the design and delivery of new authorization Web & Mobile platform
• Ensuring end to end engineering delivery right from demand inception through to release management and production roll-out
• Integrating the platform into various products of Barclays such as retail bank accounts, debit cards, credit cards, mortgages and loans, merchant acquiring, etc.
• People management including engagement, performance and development decisions
• Support the Quality management process to ensure product delivered is of the highest quality
• Managing multiple demands, resource supply and orchestrating delivery of multiple changes across releases in adherence to organizational process governance
• Owning engineering delivery framework, ensuring that plans are developed and tracked to appropriate standards, are integrated effectively across all engineering areas, are unambiguous and achievable, and that dependencies are clearly understood and managed
• Driving new ways of working to improve colleague engagement and efficiencies
• Driving team’s journey to fully Agile feature team based delivery model extensively utilizing automated DevOps CI:CD pipelines
• Driving engineering and process efficiencies with focus on automated metrics reporting
What we’re looking for:
• Strong experience in hard-core platform-centric software development, strong background in building platforms and private / public APIs
• Experience building critical software with 24x7 availability, high performance, resilient and self-healing platforms, on OLTP as well as NoSQL tech – Mongo, Cassandra, ElasticSearch
• Experience building world class software and building and managing world class software development teams; Proven ability to build effective internal relationships
• Governance and compliance policies, standards, and procedures required to fulfil role e.g. data security, records management,
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in computer science and strong analytical skills including ability to provide observations and comment with an understanding of change management process.
• Exposure to infrastructure architecture, cloud (AWS etc), and Spring framework and web technologies like Javascript and related frameworks
• Evaluate Application to be crafted/refactored towards continuous delivery. (Toggle management etc.)
• Ability to collaborate across teams to deliver complex systems and components and evaluate code for performance, understand key code metrics and take design decisions.
