Location : Chennai
The role holder will deliver an expert, quality driven service to our clients. They will also be expected to provide a first class experience for all of our clients, demonstrating ownership of all queries. The Underwriting teams are expected to make accurate and prompt decisions, with support from various systems such as credit reference agency, fraud detection and affordability tools available. The role holder will ensure all Governance, Risk Management, Controls and Compliance requirements are adhered to.
What will you be doing?
- Making decisions and problem solving in a timely manner using various system applications under the guidance of Underwriting Policy
- Ensure daily SLA are met as per Business Schedule
- Manage and Address queries raised by the client and other stakeholders
- Accountable for identifying, analysing and resolving /implementation processing issues to prevent re-
- Occurrence reducing loss to the business
- Provide support and cover in terms of process management to team members
- Conduct Quality Assurance checks on the process and ensure team adhere to the agreed controls and checks
- Monitor performance for all Advisors on a monthly basis and provide feedback & Coaching of staffs
- Address daily workflow issues and effective handling of people issues.
- Update senior leaders with the performance of the team and daily updates related to process & people.
- Measure performance of the team for e.g. performance appraisals, confirmations and ongoing feedback and training
- Keep track of people management and ensure people adhere to laid down policies.
- Assist senior leaders with Disciplinary & Grievances framework, completing documentation and scribing for interviews
- Handling of Audits for the team and ensure the open actions are closed in timely manner.
- Drive process improvements culture within the team. Identify and eliminate non value added steps in the process
- Positively support and contribute to team building and team dynamics through personally displaying team attributes.
- Participate and lead any project related changes within the unit
- Drive and create Risk awareness among the team
What we’re looking for?
- Strong understanding of a credit underwriting environment
- Prior experience in handling a team would be advantageous
- Managing own time and productivity effectively to meet strict service requirements in a rapid and fast paced environment
- Carrying out affordability checks with customers to ensure applications are in line with our responsible lending criteria and within regulatory guidelines
- Working with other areas of the business to ensure the correct outcome for customers
- Good analysis and problem solving skills
- The candidate will possess an excellent command of the English language being fluent in spoken, written and oral English.
- Qualified Graduate (B.Com etc.) or MBA (Finance)
- Relevant years of experience along with working knowledge/domain experience of the applied role
Skills that will help you in the role
- Should be well versed with Quality, Lean, Six Sigma methodology.
- Knowledge about RPA and hands on experience on leading robotic projects.
- Assertiveness, tenacious and control focused
- Expected to take accountability/responsibility of deliverables
- Providing innovative judgement which can be contributed as part of the decision making process
