The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the technical delivery for medium to large scale regulatory projects in Barclays UK Risk, Finance & Treasury functions. This is a hands-on technical leadership role with direct responsibility for the deliveries of the local team with an emphasis on strong cross-region collaboration. The role requires expert technical knowledge and strong banking skills in Credit risk business process. The ideal candidate will be able to bring experience from previous developer position(s), with direct experience of end-to-end implementation, application development and project execution, ensuring that strategic key core principles are followed. The ideal candidate should be self-sufficient and pro-active in leading their work and provides a platform for best-practice processes for the team members.
What will you be doing?
•    To be part of an agile team of developers in credit risk regulatory and compliance data delivery projects with overall experience of 4-6 years out of which 2 or more years of experience in Hadoop Technologies.
•    Development experience in Hadoop technologies, such as Hive, Spark (v1.6, 2.x), Scala, Oozie and Java.
•    Strong SQL skills in Hive and Impala.
•    Experience in DevOps tools (GiT, Teamcity, etc.,)
•    Ensure that the team delivers good quality and maintainable code with high test coverage 
•    Be hands-on in development, code reviews, unit testing and Implementation procedures
•    Contribute to technical design decisions
•    Assume responsibility for the delivery of the projects assigned to the team
•    Technical delivery in to PROD environment with relevant change requests
•    Expertise in optimizing, refining and performance tuning applications, script and processes
•    Liaising and working closely with the peers within and outside of the team, keeping stakeholders updated on progress against milestones
•    Highlight and managing risks and issues via effective controls and standard Barclays processes
•    Enhance and improve the application development capability within the team, via automation and innovation
•    Produce various management information reports showing trend analysis, KPI’s and executive summaries 

What we’re looking for:
    Proven track record as a Technical delivery and change management skills
    Must have core development & implementation experience in Hadoop technologies, such as Hive, Spark (v1.6, 2.x), Scala, Oozie and Java.
    Strong SQL skills in Hive and impala.
    Experience in DevOps tools (GiT, Teamcity)
    Good to have experience in scripting language like Python, Shell scripting etc.
    Good to have experience in Compliance & Controls (SOx ) in data delivery projects
    Good to have experience in AWS, Teradata 
    Certification in Hadoop or big data technologies
    Experience in Credit Risk and Banking domain and exposure to Regulatory projects
    Familiarity with complex system integration and excellent understanding of the full SDLC lifecycle including both waterfall, agile and DevOps methodologies.

Skills that will help you in the role:
    Credit Risk banking experience
    Regulatory experience (IFRS9/ BCBS) with control and compliance implementations 
    Managing development teams under SAS and Hadoop technologies
    Previous experience within Finance, Treasury and Risk functions

    High attention to detail/hands on with excellent organizational skills
    Ability to produce clear, concise, well-structured documents and analysis using PowerPoint and Excel
    Solid strategic analysis, problem solving, issue resolution, facilitation and decision making skills
    Effective relationship management and influencing skills
    Ability to create agreement among different stakeholders
