Job Title: Salesforce Tech Lead

Location: Chennai


Understanding SFMC Platform and its management , campaign management process, managing end to end email campaign build and delivery on Sales force Marketing Cloud and also  platform level projects on Salesforce


Multi task across multiple projects and requirements

Understanding the overall purpose of the Campaign management and Salesforce platform, and contribute in design, development, testing and maintenance of relevant components and integration with applicable data source systems

Involve in test phases and work towards early resolution of defects and ensuring permanent fix

Adherence to Barclays policies and standards

The role will require work to be undertaken on multiple releases at a time, collaborating with Delivery Manager,  Designers, and other developers as well as support Infrastructure teams during and for the release of software components within the project scope, ensuring quality and timeliness of the delivery.


What will you be doing?


Technical development of campaigns in SFMC and projects on Salesforce

Understand end to end process flow 

Understand user requirement and involvement in discussions with designers and Architects 

Adherence to Barclays coding standards and best practices

Ownership of end to end process

Help team work towards operational efficiency

Implement solutions to prevent repetition of known issues/ risks and share knowledge of lessons learned

Conduct testing to ensure successful deployment/ implementation of all developments or new applications.

Work on POC’s

Has an acknowledged area of expertise and understands how the team can deliver more effectively

Good understading of business process

Ad-hoc analytics based on the business needs

Participate in Post Release Reviews to ensure all lessons learnt on technical things are documented and 

 incorporated in future releases/projects

Identify key design/build issues and develop options and recommendations to resolve.

Provide knowledge sharing and mentoring to junior members of the team. 

Partner with the other functions for technical related topics, and imbibe them into the deliverables.

Provide technical training and requisite support to federated teams on Salesforce Marketing Cloud Platform

d.Custom Trigger send 

e.Journey email send using DM component 

f.Bulk / Quick send componenet 

g.Camapign Send & reporting

h.SF object customisation 

6.Cloud pages

a.custom un/subscription center

b.standalone forms that posts data to Sales cloud

7.Mobile Studio 

a.Configuration of Short/Long code for different countries 

8.Contact builder

a.Contact creation

b.Attribute and population grouping 

c.1-M, M-M data designs

9.Dynamic sender profile, From Address Management

10.Domain / subdomain management (understanding of SPF, DKIM, DMARC on delegated or custom domains)

11.User, Role Management, FTP account & Key management,

12.SQL, HTML, CSS

Journey Builder

Automation Studio

Data Extension, Segmentation

Contact Builder

Content Builder

Advertising Studio lead capture

Salesforce cloud basic knowledge


Working on a number of tasks on a variety of different projects at the same time.

Ability to build effective internal relationships

Exposure to Banking and Finance domains

Strong analytical skills including ability to provide observations and comment

Able to solve problems and to understand relevance to the wider objective

Awareness of innovative management information tools and systems 

Wider-thinking and problem solving – identifying and delivering reporting through own initiative.

Strong reporting and communication skills

Ability to work in high pressure, milestone driven project plan

Use the Barclays Training portal to accelerate and maintain skills level, particularly the development of professional change skill sets


Skills that will help you in the role:


-Preferred candidate from either product based, Telecom, Banking.

-Should have good data skills – SQL, TD/ Oracle,  – added advantage

-Certification from relevant technology provider (preferable)
