Job Title : VP Technology Lead
Location : Chennai

The Reconciliation Change control Lead acts as a servant-leader and coach to the team, creating and maintaining the conditions that allow the team to be successful, and ensuring the team has the resources that it needs.

What will you be doing?
Technology Lead (30%)

  • Highly potential technology lead in Java/.NET full stack
  • High proficient required to design scalable, robust applications in Java/.NET
  • Should have minimum 10 years of experience in designing architecture for Java/.NET
  • Should possess minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in AWS and private cloud
  • Good experience in Reconciliation/Market applications.

Team Enablement (30%)

  • Work with the team, Product Owner and stakeholders, identify, describe, track, prevent and resolve risks and remove or facilitate removal of impediments
  • Support the Global Head in ensuring Barclays governance standards are applied within the team
  • Support the Product Owner, especially with respect to product backlog refinement
  • Support and communicate with DevOps and other team members to secure successful execution of release go-live activities
  • Help teams to maximise their sustained output and quality and to maintain team’s motivation
  • Facilitate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development pipeline to remove waste and inefficiency.
  • Gather key data and agile metrics and conduct trend analysis on key data points to support continuous improvement and the removal of future impediments and waste.
  • Ensure the feature team fully understands the overall programme of work, the deployment schedule, and project and resource dependencies.
  • Engage with multiple teams and disciplines to resolve issues in a timely manner and drive out root cause identification through varied tools and methods.

Building Domain expertise (30%)

  • Work with LOB teams in gaining a view on the Product Backlog
  • Build competency on the Business Domain and provide technology viewpoint on the critical programs.
  • Work as an internal consultant to the Business team in achieving the objective of effective controls using Reconciliation Platform
  • Communicate and negotiate with Product Owners, Senior Management and the business unit leadership team where appropriate to ensure that delivery progress is transparently communicated, scope is correctly prioritised, resources are provided and issues resolved efficiently.
  • Maintain strong communication with relevant teams, stakeholders and vendors.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information

Organisational Change and Agile Adoption (20%)

  • Educate others outside the team about how the team is working through sharing learning and experiences
  • Assist the team to continually improve its processes in order to drive efficiency and reduce cycle time to market
  • Support improvement in Agile practices outside the team
  • Conform to the standards of the Barclays Agile Control Lifecycle and ensure the team refines and adheres to its selected Agile process

Coaching & Mentoring (15%)
Help the team become self-organising and cross-functional
Coach team members and stakeholders in the practices and mindset of Agile delivery
Maintain knowledge of current good practices and new trends in Agile delivery
Mentor team members and colleagues to develop their personal competencies
Actively participate in relevant internal and external Communities
Help the team to understand their current agile fluency level and coach the team to identify steps to achieve higher levels of maturity.

What we’re looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience working as part of a technology projects with cross-functional, matrix staff (including vendors) with high integration across multiple lines of business and technical discipline 
  • Experience in managing the technology projects and architecture design
  • An understanding of reconciliations and how they are utilized by the business
  • Experience in Java/.NET full stack development
  • Knowledge in BO reporting is desired
  • Good knowledge about investment banking specifically Nostro/Depot Reconciliation. 
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices. Should have knowledge of Project Management and Service tools like Jira, TFS, Service Now, Perforce, etc.
  • Should have sound knowledge of Change Management Process.
  • Demonstrable experience of working to fixed business deadlines/constraints 
  • Demonstrable experience of working with/managing ambiguous/vague requirements
  • Understanding of the Dev Ops tools - Source Control (Perforce preferred), including multi-development/parallel branches
  • Direct experience of working with Business Analysts and Testers
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to developers
  • Team and Task management experience
  • Strong understanding of Agile delivery frameworks and practices (Scrum, Kanban etc) and tools (Rally, Jira, Jenkins etc)

Skills that will help you in the role :

  • Well experienced in java/.NET full stack development
  • Good experience in AWS/Cloud and Business objects
  • Experience of effecting organisational change to achieve agility
  • Understanding  scaled agile frameworks (e.g. DAD, LeSS or SAFe)
  • Experience of changing governance models
  • Experience of XP practices (e.g. CI, TDD/BDD, Pairing, Continuous Deployment etc)
