Application Support Analyst 
Glasgow

As Barclays Application Support Analyst this exciting time to join the Service Management team within Wealth Management & Investments (WM&I), who directly support more than 300 services. Being Application Support Analyst means you will work with the Service Operations Managers & Service Engagement Managers, to ensure timely and accurate communication is provided to stakeholder, whilst supporting highly complex applications and investigating/resolving complex issues and incidents.

What will you be doing?
• Supporting the end to end Charles River Portfolio management system and ensuring the optimum performance from the in-scope services within the UK support unit
• Assisting highly complex environment with numerous (hundreds) of interfaces and dependencies
• Ensuring SLAs are in place, negotiating changes when required with business service owners and that SLA's are met 
• Being heavily focused on service continuity and resumption added value tasks will specialize in service improvement & cost reduction activities
• Responding quickly and dealing with high severity incidents, to identify issue and restore service, within shortest possible timeframe, working with technology and business teams 
• Managing and driving through root cause analysis of incidents, identifying trends to prove an effective interface into problem management
• Driving initiatives aimed at reducing number of low severity incidents, whilst avoidance of high severity incidents through various initiatives identified (both internal third party)
• Ensuring consistent quality of ‘warm down’ activities to ensure that all services are fully stabilized and operational integrity is maintained 

What we’re looking for:
• Exceptional level of support experience  SQL is a mandatory requirement for this role
• Ability to interact with technical specialists and to decompose services into logical processes to aid investigation and triage of live service incidents
• Able to quickly absorb/assimilate large amounts of technical and business information to identify the most appropriate course of action to ensure consistent quality

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Have AWS Support Skills 
• Knowledge of DEVOPS 
• Knowledge of IPSOFT & Aternity 
• ITIL v3 certified (desirable)
