Data Analyst & Governance    
Glasgow 

As a Barclays Data Analyst & Governance Central Support you will support the Enterprise Data Governance team, who is responsible for enabling firm wide compliance with the Global Data Management Standard (GDMS) for Data Quality. This is exciting opportunity for you be part of a team that coordinates with business unit and function leads to help enable consistent delivery within the boundaries of Policy and Standards.

What will you be doing?

• Delivering a structured approach to the analysis, resolution, reporting and measurement of metadata and data lineage
• Supporting the firm’s Data Governance lead and team to coordinate with all group-mandated policies, procedures and standards in relation to Data Governance 
• Embedding a data-driven Operating Model for Data Governance to include accountabilities, governance processes, heat map metrics 
• Maintaining the metadata central reporting for the annual assessment of compliance with Barclays Group Data Management Standard.
• Partnering with Business unit and Function leads to facilitate governance and escalation forums with regards to delivery of Data Governance
• Capturing and tracking escalation items and issues stemming from delivery teams and help drive to remediation
• Supporting communication throughout the organization support Data Governance and Quality 
• Partnering with Reporting Centre of Excellence team to provide requirements for any enhancements to data quality reporting

What we’re looking for:

• Excellent Influencing and leveraging skills as the role operates across a matrix
• Ability to design, implement, operate and refine processes, documentation and controls
• Ability to undertake analysis and research and present well-reasoned findings to senior management
• Proficient level of problem solving ability to address new situations and efficiently handle any incidents which may arise

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Banking industry experience, or engaging those businesses as part of a market leading consultancy
• Evidence of a partnership approach to deliver outcomes
• Excellent communication skills and can communicate orally and in writing to senior management and in regulatory documents
