As a Barclays Rates Electronic Trading Developer, you’ll be part of our C++ Development Electronic Trading Team. This dedicated team is responsible for the development and support of the front office applications and systems that used to support the Macro business globally. As a key member of this team, this an exciting opportunity for you to take ownership of all perform activities related to the development.

What will you be doing? 

• Working with trading, quant, and product teams, partnership with first-line support teams, and interaction with lateral functions such as risk, controls, and compliance 
• Working with the vendor to analyse those requirements to find the most appropriate method for incorporating them into existing systems
• Developing those requirements including making the necessary changes in the internal adapters as well as the vendor system
• Reviewing Unit / system / regression / performance testing /conduct code as and when required
• Providing inventive/novel solutions to business issues within short timescales
• Maintaining project standards and ensure that they are adhered to, proactively add to these standards whenever possible
• Maintaining our commitment to a global code base and ensure other regions are kept informed of breaking changes
• Ensuring DevOps objectives are adopted in applications 

What we’re looking for:

• Significant skills in Object Oriented Analysis and Design Concepts: C++ / .Net
• A relevant degree or qualification
• Hands on knowledge on Relational Databases: SQL Server

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Hands on knowledge in Python, KDb, JavaScript
• Skill in Test Driven Development, Continuous Delivery and System integration.
• Hands on knowledge of Git repository
