Change leads and oversees transformational change initiatives at Barclays. Your role will involve managing projects and programs that drive strategic improvements and ensure successful implementation of change across the organization.

We are seeking an experienced VP- APAC Prime & Equities Cash Business Analyst / Project Manager, to join the Markets Pre-Trade Change Delivery Technology team. The role is responsible for overseeing the business analysis function for APAC Prime & Cash Equities trading technology, covering all projects in the space including Growth, MRC (Mandatory, Reg & Control) and KTLO (Keep The Lights On). The role will be the key SME (Subject Matter Expert) within Technology across Prime & Equities Cash trading platforms, interfacing with Trading desks, Market Risk, Compliance, Middle Office, and front to back Technology teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversight of the APAC Prime & Equities Cash book of work and delivery/financial planning status across regional projects
  • Partnering with Tech leads to drive application story backlogs/sprint planning and provide robust framework to ensure Dev/QA are positioned to complete delivery of their book of work
  • Driving a standardised and structured approach to project delivery across projects
  • Driving process improvements and ensure consistent business analysis task structure in place across project deliveries.
  • Own setup and maintenance of central repository for requirements (Confluence, JIRA)
  • Being responsible for assessment of any new cross team/FTB requirement requests on Prime & Equities Cash projects
  • Ensuring trading flows are documented in detail and kept up to date as new flows are rolled out/decommissioned.
  • Understand strategic target architecture for the trading platform and collaborate with Tech Leads to ensure projects are moving in a strategic direction
  • Ensuring compliance with internal and external controls/regulatory policies including Global Electronic Trading (GET) policy
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across Front Office, Middle Office/Operations, Compliance and Technology teams
  • Maintaining long-term vision, even amidst short term deliverables

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or Finance or equivalent
  • First-hand experience working on a front-office trading platform
  • Ability to write high quality Business Requirement Documents and Functional Specs that are clear and concise enough for, front office traders, functional stakeholders and developers to follow
  • Ability to build strong relationships with the Front Office, Operations, Compliance and Technology
  • In depth knowledge of front to back Equity trading flows and processes
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with other project team members, including Technology, business, and Compliance teams at all levels, gauging the level of technical knowledge of the audience in these communications

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical background desirable
  • Good understanding of Asian exchange connectivity & market micro-structure
  • Experience on low latency DMA trading platforms
  • Driven to apply order and process, yet flexible to adapt as needed for continuous improvement

This role is based in Hong Kong.

Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
