As a Barclays Tester, you will work within Component Integration Testing within API Delivery for projects that require either new APIs or changes to existing APIs.  Under minimal supervision you will plan and execute test projects, enhancements or fixes on applications, whilst managing any risks and dependencies. This is an opportunity for you to create test ware including test scenarios, test cases, test data, automated test scripts, assist in estimates creation and reporting.

What will you be doing?

• Managing impact analysis, test estimation and test planning for projects
• Understanding the functional requirements, systems architecture and test environment landscape
• Raising environment dependencies and highlighting any risks to the test lead and delivery manager
• Creating test scripts (manual and automated) and test data based on the test scope 
• Executing manual and automation tests using both automation and manual tools as applicable aligning to overall test strategy defined
• Escalating any risks and issues to the test lead as appropriate and in a timely manner providing options to resolve any challenges
• Assisting in any operational tasks of managing a team and supporting adaption of new processes/tools
• Coaching less experienced team members on test processes, systems and tools

What we’re looking for:

• Software testing experience and/or a technology related qualification
• Knowledge of technology test processes
• Experience with test automation with at least one automation framework 
• Ability to lead and manage test resources on a test project

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Stake holder management experience
• A relevant certification i.e. a ISTQB Software Testing Foundation Certificate
• Experience programming in Java

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
