Variance Lead Developer
London 

As a Barclays Variance Lead Developer, you will be part of the Stress team who develop and support the Stress Management Tool and Variance systems, as well as the Pricing Add-Ins. There are a large number of projects underway and Variance/ SMT cover all asset classes. The core team maintain the platforms and various senior developers/ smaller asset class teams that own and deliver the projects on the platform for their respective business.

What will you be doing?
• Participate in overall strategy & design through technical discussions and personally contribute to the code-base
• Work with clients to understand how best to leverage the system to solve their       business problems
• Help provide peer code reviews before code integration and deployment
• Proactively problem solve and suggest future enhancements by working with both business and technology teams to understand their requirements 
• Help to manage the DevOps environment for the global variance team
• Transform business level requirements into generic features, which all business areas can benefit from – taking ownership of components
• Work with users from Analyst to Managing Director, explaining existing functionality and drilling into their business problems to offer potential solutions
• Assist in training and demonstration sessions of the applications’ key areas of functionality to new and existing stakeholders

What we’re looking for:
• High standard in one of F#/ Python/ C# and an interest in functional programming
• Practical experience of project delivery
• Good time management, prioritisation and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across all levels

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Functional programming experience  
• C++ / Python/ C#/ F#
• Experience of software testing, unit, integration, stress and load tests
• Experience of working in an Investment Bank

Where will you be working?
5 North Colonnade is home to our investment bank and is in the heart of Canary Wharf, just a short walk from our headquarters at Churchill Place. It boasts an array of onsite amenities such as dry cleaner as well as a deli and buffet style staff restaurant. The building is easily accessible by tube, docklands light railway and all major bus links. The atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
