US Head of ESG Research - New York, NY

The US Head of ESG Research will work closely with the Global Head of ESG Research, with primary responsibility to drive ESG integration and thought leadership across Barclays research in the US.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead driver for ESG content and integration across US fundamental research by partnering with and supporting sector analysts
  • Act as local centre of ESG-related excellence both internally and client-facing
  • Originate and co-author creative content that demonstrates how ESG factors are essential fundamental factors and link to value drivers
  • Lead on client contact, marketing of ESG product in US market incl. senior client relationships, help create distribution lists
  • Ensure Barclays ESG research initiatives and products are aligned and coherent across regions and asset classes in collaboration with the global ESG Team
  • Coordinate and drive ESG related events and corporate access in coordination with global ESG and PMG Teams
  • Work closely with both Global Head of ESG Research and Head of Americas Equity Research
  • Build relationships with US analysts in order to encourage and support ESG integration 
  • Line manager to junior members of ESG Research team that are US-based (two)
  • Communicate and collaborate both with the global ESG Team and with analysts across the research department
  • Work closely with PMG Teams in driving ESG content and marketing
  • Client engagement esp. senior client relationships on ESG, working closely with sales

What we’re looking for:

  • Robust understanding of ESG integration and passion for Responsible/Sustainable Investing
  • Experience in ESG asset management or sell-side research environment incl. financial analysis
  • Self-starter and ability to prioritise despite conflicting demands on time.
  • Strong quantitative aptitude and qualitative reasoning coupled with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm, energy, willingness to work in a goal-oriented team and cultural fit are very important
  • Excellent presentation skills / client interaction skills
  • The ability to stay ahead of important developments in the very rapidly evolving ESG investing space (client strategies, regulation, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills / emotional intelligence incl. the ability to build trust and influence others

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building. The building is easily accessible to Restaurants, Shops and Public Transportation.
