Python Developer – Rates - AVP
New York, NY

As a Barclays Python Developer you will work directly for stakeholders in Macro Trading and collaborating closely with colleagues in Quantative Analytics to build and maintain a suite of tools used for intraday risk management. It is a global application development team responsible for the Trade Capture platforms for the Rates asset class.  We serve over 1,500 users of which 700 are based in the Front Office, are globally distributed and work across many of the business lines in Markets.

What will you be doing?

•    Consolidation, upgrade and maintenance of Front Office pricing spreadsheets and other Front Office tools working largely in Python and Excel.
•    Use analytic skills and knowledge of financial instruments to build best-in-class solutions
•    Facing front office stakeholders directly to agree and plan the forward book of work
•    Responsible for ensuring that all Barclays Standards are met across the SDLC
•    Other development and analysis tasks as delegated by the team lead

What we’re looking for:

•    4-year Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree 
•    Minimum 3 years work in Python with active hand-on experience in one or more prevalent Python frameworks
•    3 years of hand-on experience with server side programming, web services and messaging protocols

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Strong working knowledge of XML structures, navigation, validation and transformation
•    Experience in development of enterprise Java / .NET applications
•    Work experience in Front Office trading technology within Investment Banking industry
•    Fluency in Excel

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
