Electronic Trading Quant Researcher

The Electronic Trading Quant Researcher will help design, research, back-test and calibrate limit order and/or venue selection models in our algorithmic trading product suite.  They will also ensure that the trading logic is providing optimal and cost-effective execution across the business, and that the products are current with market and regulatory developments and risk is managed appropriately.

The successful candidate is also expected to engage in product development, client support and production of high quality content for client and trader education.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be designing, researching, back-testing, and calibrating models for limit order placement and/or venue selection models (smart order routing).
  • You will be evaluating the performance of the models and quantify their efficacy.
  • You will be developing response function for short-term alphas and incorporate them in to limit order model or Smart Order Router implementation
  • You will collaborate with quantitative development and technology teams to ensure models are accurately implemented in code
  • Work with the product team to ensure efficiency of deliverables and coordination across risk and technology groups
  • Design, research, back-test, and calibrate models for limit order placement and/or venue selection models (smart order routing).
  • Understand and explore related academic research and extract ideas to explore
  • Evaluate the performance of the models and quantify their efficacy

What we’re looking for:

  • Masters or Ph.D in a quantitative discipline such as Maths, Finance, Machine Learning/AI, Econometrics, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry or Operations Research.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of statistical methodologies
  • Prior experience with electronic trading algorithms

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Deep understanding of the US equity market microstructure and various order types available
  • Working knowledge of Python or Q
  • Experience with handling and analysing large amounts of tick data

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
