The US Product Lead for Exchange Traded Futures and Cleared Derivatives will work as part of the Global PDS Product team. This individual will be responsible for the Product Development for our cross product PDS Futures, OTC Clearing and FX Prime Brokerage business. He/she will be the subject matter expert for clients and internal stakeholders, and look to continue the development of a robust, stable, and standardised business model that aligns with the wider PDS business objectives, including but not limited to: revenue enhancement, optimisation of resources, improvement of controls, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulation. The individual will have experience with broader Prime Services activity in order to provide wider business support and ensure PDS Product is closely aligned with the rest of the business and needs of our Markets clients.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be a subject matter expert for the cross product PDS Business from front to back (trade capture, booking, settlement, lifecycle events etc.)
  • You will be a visible leader of the PDS US Product team with Clients, Sales, Risk, Clearing Management and Product teams to identify and realize PDS business development opportunities
  • Working with the Global Head of PDS Product to ensure that the key asks for the US PDS business is covered in the Global PDS Product Plan and that those items are delivered
  • Developing relationships with Barclays Sales teams across Markets to collect product development requirements and advertise our offering
  • Interacting and liaising with external third-party market participants and platforms as part of product build-out (e.g. ECNs, infrastructure providers such as Fidessa, FIS and Traiana, industry groups, FIA etc.)
  • Ensuring that all product development activities are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Barclays operational risk framework and internal Barclays policies and standards
  • Monitoring changes in industry and regulatory practices, taking the initiative to ensure implications are recognized for action within PDS
  • Defining standard and non-standard business offerings for the PDS US clients

What we’re looking for:

  • College / University degree
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong knowledge of Agency Execution and Clearing businesses
  • A resourceful, self-starter who is able to escalate appropriately when required
  • Someone with strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate at all levels and across multiple areas within the firm
  • A team player with a high level of motivation, commitment and enthusiasm to work in a multi-asset class team
  • Someone with the ability to develop effective solutions to support new business initiatives, market and regulatory changes
  • An understanding of the regulatory environment impacting FCM’s
  • Manage stakeholders on risk decisions. 

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Hands on experience developing, trading or selling of FX, Rates, Credit and Equities (Futures and OTC)
  • Detailed understanding of execution algorithms and related services like TCA
  • Experience managing a team

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
