Corporate Affairs ensures effective management of Barclays’ public image, communications, policies, and regulatory relationships. This includes overseeing corporate governance, driving corporate communications, managing policy and advocacy efforts.

Role Purpose

Lead and manage corporate relations within Corporate Communications, with a strong focus on governance, operational discipline, and high-quality stakeholder engagement. The role will drive seamless execution across external engagements, partnerships, and events, while ensuring robust risk oversight, financial control, and effective use of digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Establish and drive governance frameworks across communications initiatives and partnerships
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, audit requirements, and risk protocols
  • Manage approvals, documentation, and reporting for all corporate engagements
  • Track metrics, reporting cadence, and team updates to drive transparency and accountability

2. Budgeting & Financial Management

  • Own budgeting, forecasting, and cost management across corporate relations and communications initiatives
  • Track and report spends across events, partnerships, and vendor engagements
  • Drive cost optimisation while maintaining quality and impact

3. Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage the end-to-end vendor lifecycle including onboarding, contracting, and performance management
  • Drive delivery excellence, timelines, and accountability across agencies and partners
  • Ensure strong supplier governance, including purchase requests, invoicing, and timely reporting

4. Events & Platform Management

  • Lead planning and execution of high-impact events, leadership forums, and external platforms
  • Drive operational excellence across both large-scale and curated engagements
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and experience

5. Digital Platforms & Tools

  • Act as a strong user and enabler of digital sourcing and collaboration platforms
  • Leverage digital tools to enhance vendor management, communication workflows, and event delivery
  • Drive adoption of technology-led solutions to improve efficiency and scale

6. Corporate Relations & Stakeholder Management

  • Build and manage relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry bodies and partners
  • Support leadership engagement platforms, roundtables, and strategic forums
  • Ensure consistent and well-aligned representation of the organisation across interactions

7. Global Coordination & Collaboration

  • Work closely with global and regional teams to align on priorities and execution
  • Enable smooth coordination across geographies for events, campaigns, and partnerships
  • Act as a central integration point across teams and stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, corporate relations, or operational roles within corporate functions
  • Adhere to Barclays Value and Mindset and high on Integrity. Strong experience in governance, risk, and compliance frameworks
  • Proven capability in budgeting, financial tracking, and cost optimisation
  • Experience in vendor and supplier management
  • Demonstrated ability to manage events and leadership engagements
  • Strong familiarity with digital platforms and sourcing tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with global teams and senior stakeholders
  • Good understanding of marketing tools and communication channels
  • Strong analytical mindset with focus on data-driven decision making
  • High ownership, strong prioritisation, and disciplined execution
  • Comfortable with modern tools and AI-enabled workflows, including Copilot

This role is based out of Noida location

Purpose of the role

To manage, govern and evolve internal communication channels.

Accountabilities

  • Development and execution of a digital channels strategy.
  • Management and optimisation of internal communication channels.
  • Collaboration with external stakeholders to understand new digital channels and stay up to date on industry standards, trends, and best practice.

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.

  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
