User Interface (UI) Developer
Northampton

As a Barclays User Interface (UI) Developer you will be responsible for the production of high quality code on a personal and team level, adhering to all software engineering quality standards / benchmarks. The Group Design and Digital Office provides Barclays with market-changing leadership in the Design and Digital product innovation and development arena, and drives the transformation and strategic integration of a global innovation platform.

What will you be doing?

• Collaborating and communicating with other developers to build technical solutions
• Collaborating and communicating with Design and User Experience teams to understand experience and brand 
• Supporting technical decision making that requires a good understanding of the problem domains
• Promoting and driving innovation by actively advocating new tools, processes and technical developments to drive continuous improvement 
• Maintaining an in-depth understanding of relevant and up to date knowledge of applications and techniques
• You will be working closely with stakeholder and project leads to explore and understand business objectives and produce application code that deliver those outcomes

What we’re looking for:

• Good understanding of End-to-end (E2E) software development lifecycle, with working knowledge of Agile Software development techniques
• Good understanding of OO Programming, Functional Programming, Design and associated concepts
• Responsive development with CSS & CSS pre-processors
• Knowledge of Version Control Software and code management

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Industry experience in Test Driven Development with UI E2E testing and build tools
• Experience building to Accessibility Standards (WCAG)
• Understanding of CI / DevOps and state management (Redux)
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
