As Barclays’s Equity SQL DevOps Developer you will be part of Structured Equity Derivative Solutions providing derivatives, structured products and strategic investments for clients worldwide. What will you be doing?
• Assisting in supporting CI/CD approach
• Ensuring that the applications developed comprise a coherent part of the trading toolkit that interoperates with other components in the EQIT platform
• Ensuring that the development approach is extremely iterative with continuous client participation and feedback
• Developing 'best practice' standards and working with development teams to ensure these standards are adhered to
• Being responsible for performance tuning of database systems and diagnosing as well as troubleshooting database errors
• Creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards; creating automation for repeating database tasks

What we’re looking for:
• Hands on experience with databases and SQL languages (e.g. good knowledge of one or more out of Oracle, MSSQL, PL/SQL, TSQL), scripting (Java, VB or Python)
• Experience and ability to demonstrate optimizations, performance diagnosis and tuning techniques in the whole working stack
• Experience in monitoring application\frameworks (like Geneos, ESaaS etc.), source control systems (Git / Stash)
• Unix/Linux experience, script language experience - Bash Shell/Python, experience with tools such as Ant, Maven, Teamcity, Autosys, Chef, Nolio

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Knowledge of Equities Derivatives financial products and related risk measures and pricing
• Knowledge of Exotic Equity Derivatives
• Experience in automation using scripting languages including Python, Shell Scripting
• Proven ability to pick up and learn new languages on the job
