Senior C++ Developer FX Trading 
Prague

As a Barclays Senior C++ Developer FX Trading you will be part of the team within Pre Trade Technology, where the platforms support varying degrees of voice and electronic trading, with FX Cash being the most heavily trading with strong similarities to Cash Equities. The platforms are combination of 3rd party and in-house built, using a variety of technologies, Java, C++, C#, HTML5, kdb.

What will you be doing?

• Writing high quality robust, reliable and high-performance C++ and SQL code on the Linux based platform, BARX FX, using the latest development tools 
• Following all steps of the development lifecycle from analysis, design, implementation, unit tests, code reviews, automated and performance test to final delivery
• Interacting with traders, sales and operations on several requirements/ projects
• Using Agile methods
• Working within a team of other C++ and Java developers as well as testers and participating in a culture of “knowledge sharing”
• Delivering continuous improvement of the development environment
• Providing estimates for tasks, including design, development and testing

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience of writing C++ (or C and similar) code for multithreaded server applications on Linux/ Solaris or Windows 
• Excellent analytical and analysis skills, ability to investigate complex coding issues and navigate a large code base
• Good communication skills and ability to participate in technical discussions within the development team, communicating any issues to the necessary level 

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Familiarity with continuous integration systems such as TeamCity, version control systems such as GIT, build automation tools such as Maven
• A working knowledge of Confluence and JIRA 
• Previous work on a front office trading application
• Experience with one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python, Perl, ksh, bash or sh)

Our Prague office is part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing.
