Overall Purpose of the role
Management of Test environments for projects planned/assigned as part of MTP SI pipeline for Barclaycard Germany, ensuring appropriate coordination with relevant teams towards successful delivery and release.
What will you be doing?
·Contribute to BEM NG platform solution design, build, testing, debugging of services/programs, correcting errors and re-testing to deliver an error free product and maintenance of components in end to end delivery
·Contribute to future strategic platform planning with use of cloud solutions
·Understand various front-end applications and back-end services and databases
·Write well-designed, testable, efficient code leveraging best practices and re-use
·Create and amend programs in accordance with the design following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards
·Completing assigned work in timescale to meet schedule and quality; Raise risks in case of blockers
·Be a part of strategic vision planning for the team and platform and define a means of achieving it, evolving initiatives and environment progress/changes
·Knowledge sharing with LSS (Live Systems Support) during project handover to live
·Documenting all work in accordance with agreed standards and reuse in mind
·Embrace automation and adopt best practices for testing and environment build automation
·Evaluations and reviews of programming methods, tools and standards
What We are looking for:
·Self-review of work and peer review of work to ensure controls and standards are adhered to
·Well-developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, advise, influence others and work collaboratively with people to make decisions
·Certified or working knowledge of programming languages and frameworks including Java, Chef Scripting, IBM Webshere Message Broker and AWS knowledge
·Excellent SQL writing, debugging and tuning skills along with extensive working experience in IBM Message Broker Family tool sets.
·Solid understanding of how web applications work; including security, session management and best developer practices
·Experience in Agile practices, CI/CD Jenkins, Nexus, GIT Stash, Jira and Confluence
Skills that will help you in the role:
·Stay in tune with emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them to operations and activities
·Self-motivated personal development/training – including mandatory training
·Ability to plan and manage own and others workloads
·Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within constraints of timelines and budgets
·Should have good understand of middleware / EAI architecture, API’s, Restful services and adaptors. Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming and web application development
