As a Barclays Chief Controls Office Finance Lead, you will work closely with Barclays Finance teams in developing, coordinating and monitoring a globally consistent control framework including overseeing adherence to documented policies and procedures as well as get opportunity to drive and develop new initiatives to enhance controls and maximize efficiency globally.

What will you be doing?
• Managing an assigned transaction testing process, including oversight of scheduling of walkthroughs and selection of appropriate samples for testing.
• Reviewing and challenging the design of controls and reviewing testing procedures in line with Barclays’ policies and standards.
• Maintaining full appropriate documentation that is auditable.
• Reporting and communicating all assessments to the appropriate personnel and reviewing issues remediation documentation.
• Providing training and guidance relating to conformance reviews, transaction and controls testing and current regulatory developments.
• Providing regular and timely reporting/feedback to the management team and helping build and maintain effective working relationships with other Finance areas
• Assist with ad-hoc investigations and peer reviews.
• Applying knowledge of control policies, standards and guidelines to assist with the oversight of implementation of the CFO Attestation requirements.
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• Certified accountant: Currently hold active CPA or equivalent
• Working knowledge of investment banking and/or financial services industry
• Previous auditing/public accounting experience
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Deep understanding of internal controls and governance of a Finance function within an Investment Bank or Broker Dealer
• Proven ability to work independently to assess, improve and enhance a process
• Experience managing a team to tight deadlines as well as effective communication with senior members of management
• Able to demonstrate a pragmatic approach to problem solving
