In the UK, Client Money and Assets (CMA) are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the regulation is collectively referred to as CASS. In the course of conducting business with Customers, Barclays may from time to time receive, hold and control CMA on behalf of our Customers. Barclays is committed to ensuring that such money or assets are adequately protected and segregated in accordance with customer and regulatory expectations. The FCA and other regulators have established rules on protecting client money and assets, so that in the event of insolvency, the money and assets can be returned to clients without unnecessary delay.
The Client Money and Assets IT Team provide an application build service to Barclays Operations business areas across the Investment Bank and Wealth. The team manages a number of applications which are across the firm to provide consolidated end point solutions for the Operations Department to manage the firm’s business and responsibilities in relation to Client Money and Assets protection for our clients.
What will you be doing?You will be responsible for Technical deliveries within the Client Money and Assets (CMA) IT team.The role is of a Senior Java Developer and is expected to work on CMA application deliveries•Design, Build and Deliver high level Tech solution for CMA application suite•Work on strategic Technology work streams•Provide Level 3 Support, promptly respond to Live escalations from Run The Bank (RTB) teams and/or Business Operational teams
What we’re looking for: •7+ years of good experience in Java and related technologies; Multithreading, Memory management and handling high volumes of data processing•7+ years of experience in Enterprise Java, Frameworks, Web Services, SQL and Interface Technology knowledge. JVM performance tuning, garbage collection optimisation experience will be helpful•3+ years of experience in SQL or PL/SQL experience is mandatory•3+ years of experience in Angular / HTML5, UI Client - Angular, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Bootstrap CSS, Node.js, Karma, Transport – JSON over HTTP
Skills that will help you in the role: •Experience in AWS or any other Cloud technology•ActionScript 3, Flex 3, BlazeDS (AMF protocol), Cairngorm (Flex framework), Design Patterns•Flex 4, Parsley (Flex framework).•Experience of regulatory projects (particularly in the areas of Operations)•Knowledge of Investment Banking processes and Operations
