Global Contract Services, Prime Services and Prime Derivatives Services Negotiator

As a Barclays Global Contract Services, Prime Services and Prime Derivatives Services Negotiator, you will be producing, negotiating and executing various capital markets contract documentation. You will have an opportunity to support the Prime Services and Prime Derivatives Services Negotiator (PDS) businesses of Barclays with an assigned portfolio of Barclays counterparties. Global Contract Services (GCS) is responsible for various types of master agreements, while working with a great team.

What will you be doing?
•    Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and documentation risk controls and adhere to associated guidelines and procedures
•    Conducting independent legal analysis and managing relationships with external counsel where necessary and within Barclays requirements on external legal spend 
•    Collaborating with stakeholders of the firm including Sales, Trading, Risk, Compliance and Operations to establish client trading relationships 
•    Advising teams regarding risk controls and explaining legal issues to them in a succinct and commercial manner in both written and oral form
•    Partnering with colleagues in infrastructure areas across Barclay’s Investment Bank
•    Ensuring that all activities and duties are carried out with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
•    Conducting analysis of issues relating to the documentation and conducting diligence and netting analysis and identifying relevant risk owners and escalating to management

What we’re looking for:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of services
•    Good experience of financial services experience 
•    Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Prime Services and PDS agreements experience and an ability to pick up legal and commercial concepts quickly for other master agreements not previously handled
•    Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral communications and tailor approach to the audience and the situation
•    Legal risk management experience in the context of document negotiation and the regulatory developments in the prime services and derivatives industry
