As a Barclays HR Sourcing and Category Manager, you will be a senior sourcing manager within the Corporate Operations and Professional Services (COPS) Team within Procurement. You will use your expertise to shape and execute Category plans and deals within COPS with the prime focus on HR Services. Your team will be directly responsible for managing commercial deals in excess of £750M annually and are required to work collaboratively and strategically.

What will you be doing?
• Being responsible for the category planning, and delivery of deals primarily for indirect sub-categories within the HR Services category with third parties
• Managing sourcing events including RFX, commercial negotiations with relevant suppliers, and partner as appropriate with the legal support teams
• Overseeing key process activities across the sourcing team ensuring adherence to all control, risk and governance processes
• Ensuring Management Assurance results with high degree of compliance, and all project documentation is kept current with a high degree of accuracy
• Maintaining currency and compliance in all required policy, tools and systems training
• Building and maintaining a strong operational and strategic network with other Sourcing colleagues to improve sourcing processes and capability
• Working under pressure and multi-task to support a number of concurrent deals with multiple sourcing managers, stakeholders, contract managers and suppliers
• Working with stakeholders to agree short and longer term strategy to optimize supplier costs whilst and enable the business to maintain appropriate service levels and minimize risk
What we’re looking for:
• Extensive experience in procurement (experience within the financial services sector is desirable, but not essential)
• Knowledge and experience of specific market and key vendors on a global basis within the HR category
• Great contract negotiation skills, the relevant Category experience, strong networking and stakeholder management skills
• Detailed knowledge of appropriate commercial models and approaches/ techniques necessary to achieve best in class deals
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience dealing with multiple senior stakeholders
• Project Management and execution, including collaborative stakeholder management
• Excellent people management skills
• Practical training in a reputable blue chip or consulting approach to procurement/ category management and process design
