Quantitative Developer – Meteor Technical
Whippany, NJ

As a Barclays Quantitative Developer you will be a part of Prime Finance IT organization and an integral part of Prime Data Applications team. You will be broadly responsible for building financial models, critical trading tools, providing Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Analytics and reporting services across all Prime business areas facilitating the business in making right decisions to maximize profits for the firm.

What will you be doing?
• Working as a hands on Rapid Application Developer responsible for designing and developing components around complex business requirements
• Working through all development cycle from requirement understanding, data analysis, design and development, automated testing and release management
• Designing and developing rapid functional and technical solutions and adhoc reports/visualizations for business
• Understanding complex system flows and performing extensive data analysis, document functional and technical data flows as well as translating business requirements
• Partnering effectively with globally distributed IT team members, Product Management, Front Office and Middle Office teams
• Providing support for any client/trader/user queries around data and functionality as well as performing adhoc business/data analysis
• Contributing on a daily basis to a collaborative and agile environment, providing support where appropriate to other members

What we’re looking for:
• 5+ years of technical proficiency with experience in Financial Engineering, modeling and Business/Data Analysis
• 2+ years of experience in building financial/quantitative models working closely with front office users
• 3+ years of development experience in Python with experience in Data Analysis/Visualization libraries such as Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib, Plotly etc.
• 3+ years of development experience with databases and SQL languages preferably Microsoft SQL Server

Skills that will help you in the role:
• 1+ year of hands on experience working into a Big Data/Hadoop technologies such as Spark, Hive, Impala
• Experience in using agile tools e.g. JIRA, Git, Team City, Agile Central
• Experience in DevOps, source control, unit and integration testing, continuous integration, release management and other software development practices
