As a Barclays Automation Developer you will work with a team that is tasked with designing, developing and releasing automated solutions for Barclays’ Centre of Enablement. You will have the opportunity to work to improve the efficiency of the Barclays process by eliminating manual and routine tasks from several different aspects of the business. Using your knowledge of different languages and software you will drive the business forward.

What will you be doing?
• Automating ITIL processes, such as Request, Incident, Change, Problem, Provisioning, Asset Management with the goal to automate manual effort
• Developing new automation solutions using strategic engineering and development tools, languages and processes, while also supporting operations for legacy automations/ tools
• Working cross functionally with other relevant Barclays technology and/or vendor teams to identify new automation opportunities, define specifications and identify solutions
• Identifying bottlenecks and bugs in automation code, and design solutions to mitigate and address these issues
• Following Barclays automation, engineering, security, documentation, lifecycle and other processes and best practices
• Following Barclays ITIL and Information Security standards when designing, building and operating automations
• Participating in daily sprint meetings to coordinate development efforts
• Documenting workflow and solutions in Confluence while leveraging Jira Agile to track project status
What we’re looking for:
• Proficient in Python, C# and .NET Framework
• Experience building APIs and Web Services (WCF, Web API), scripting languages (PowerShell, VBS), Experience with TSQL and Microsoft SQL Server
• Proven experience with Powershell, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience in automation of ITIL processes
• Experience with Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
• Experience using orchestrator (e.g. Adaptiva, 1Desk)
