As a Barclays Java Developer you’ll work in a dynamic middle office technology team. The candidate will join a team responsible for managing and developing enterprise-level Java based platform. What will you be doing?
• Working in a fast-paced environment with business & technology to build new capabilities & features and improve existing capabilities and features
• Analyze, design, test and implement client side components in a highly distributed, real-time platform.
• Contribute in designs towards scalable and easy to maintain architecture.
• Responsibility for the quality of software and help address any customer satisfaction issues
• Employ agile techniques such as task estimation, test automation, deployment automation and continuous integration to enhance overall execution speed and product quality.
• Close integration with Trade capture & Middle office users.
• Liaise with teams across regions in EU and India to build a cross regional working model
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
• 6+ years in Java advanced concepts, Spring framework and object oriented patterns experience
• 3+ years of experience unit testing – Junit/Mockito
• 3+ years of experience in Linux, Maven, GIT or similar source control
Skills that will help you in the role:
• 5+ years of experience in RDBMS technologies, sql programming – Oracle, Sybase
• 5+ years of experience in middleware technologies, such as Solace / MQ / TIBCO RV/ JMS
• Good understanding of low latency, high throughput, multi-threading real time concepts.
• Expertise in Code Refactoring, Performance optimization, Problem Solving and Debugging JVM issues
