Senior Project Manager – Core Valuation and Analytics IT

As a Barclays Senior Project Manager, the newly created role within the Risk, Treasury and Finance Technology team, you will be managing a front to back delivery project across Investment Banks’ Front Office, Quantitative Analytics and Risk and Finance teams to deliver a strategic Trading Model Consolidation outcome with a specific focus on a risk calculation work stream. You’ll have the opportunity to later serve as the subject matter expert on the outcome and gain exposure to multiple areas of risk.

What will you be doing?

  • Establishing portfolio governance forum, enabling oversight of delivery and ensuring quality
  • Facilitating cross functional workshops and working groups to rapidly define scope, requirements and book of work for the various technology teams
  • Driving the various levels and phases of planning with an immediate need to spearhead the inception and scope definition phase which will drive critical path build planning
  • Engaging with Executive stakeholders/ Business/ Product Owners to define and prioritize project demand against resourcing and funding
  • Safeguarding the delivery of strategic outcomes with processes defined to interlock all portfolio deliverables (across CIO/PIO areas) and monitor outcomes and benefits
  • Ensuring initiatives within the project portfolio are delivered in line with expected policies, standards, and maintain oversight of portfolio funding and resource utilization
  • Providing oversight on project delivery across Quant, IB Front Office, Core Valuation, Risk and Finance technology teams and Front to back asset class migration
  • Acting as a representation in Basel IV Program related forums as appropriate and support reporting requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven track record of providing good leadership and direction and working knowledge of project management tools and techniques, including waterfall and agile methodologies

  • Demonstrable experience in Software delivery including testing within large complex organization

  • Excellent planning skills and ability to produce key project scope, definition and planning artifacts
  • Understanding of markets businesses and products; focus on XVA/CRT and Macro Rates and understanding of Risk and PnL concepts for Risk and Finance

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Working knowledge of Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA) process within the Front Office XVA/CRT trading function or Credit Risk Management
  • Familiarity with Basel IV risk framework requirements
  • Possess product and Risk/PnL knowledge in order to effectively drive requirements workshops with Front Office business
  • Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders in different clusters, geographies and functions
