As a Barclays Macro Trade Floor Support Analyst, you will be the touch point between the business and the rest of the technology functions. The Trading Desks are the team’s primary customers, through which billions of pounds’ worth of contracts are traded every day. The volume and vast size of these transactions makes the Trade Floor a high pressure environment and accordingly the Traders rely heavily on IT to be effective in executing the trade life cycle.

What will you be doing?
• Providing seamless end-to-end support service for front office users to help drive the effectiveness and commercial strength of the Trading franchise
• Investigation of trader related issues to provide solutions or tactical fixes, while also engaging with application owners to provide problem management and rapid resolutions
• Responsible for communication, escalation and management of major crisis and technology incidents impacting front office
• Organizing teams and processes particularly around real world market events which drive volatility and may impact the trading desk’s profitability
• Provide advisory services to the trading desk and support teams for functional use cases and configuration of Trading systems
• Proactive management of business critical real-time trading systems, with a particular focus on identifying issues and potential problem areas
• Log and track incidents and issues following the ITIL standards; Tracking outstanding issues and working with the appropriate parties to achieve resolution and prevent re-occurrence
• Engaging with Front Office management teams to ensure proactive management of SLA’s, capacity, performance and Business Continuity Management planning
What we’re looking for:
• Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a pressured environment
• Flexibility to deliver a consistently high level of service within a constantly changing environment with rapidly changing priorities
• Ablility to utilize core technical skills and apply to a variety of trading platforms, technologies and operating platforms
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Excel / VBA/scripting (perl, python)/SQL skills would be advantageous
• Eagerness and ambitiousness, a self-starter who enjoys learning new technologies
• Confidence to engage with business stakeholders, global colleagues and peers while working collaboratively as part of a global team
