Supervisory Analyst - Global Research  

New York

As a Barclays Supervisory Analyst (SA) in Global Research, you will sign off on all research prior to dissemination. Our global operation requires SA coverage on a 24-hour basis, with sufficient capacity to cope with predictable peak hours. As such, you will provide SA coverage working within a limited shift system primarily for the global equity research function, but with exposure to fixed income research.

What will you be doing?

·Amending research to comply with US regulatory requirements, a key function of the SA role

·Carrying out editorial work on the same material, for which you will make the presentation of the argument more commercial and ensure that it reads well in English

·Screening companies mentioned in each report and routing research through to the compliance control room where necessary

·Distributing research through the easy-to-use channels created for SA approval

·Liaising with analysts over issues unearthed in research such as points around M&A discussion, number inconsistencies, as well as the logic and clarity of their arguments

·Liaising with other members of the SA and research production team to ensure that research sent out is of the highest quality in terms of compliance, content and format

·Approving models, PowerPoint presentations as well as blast voicemails where appropriate and feasible

·Approving recordings/webcasts/podcasts for distribution to clients

What we’re looking for:

·Series 16 certification is a pre-requisite, while Series 4 and 24 are desirable

·Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field

·Ability to rewrite content to maximize commercial impact as well as similar experience in a multi-national investment bank producing equity and fixed income research

·Ability to work easily with workflow systems as well as fluency in Html publishing platforms, Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Skills that will help you in the role:

·Highly organized approach to work with awareness of confidentiality issues and an ability to prioritize workloads

·Highly proactive, motivated, hardworking, committed, flexible, and can-do approach. Must be able to think laterally and identify potential issues/conflicts within research material

·Attention to detail is a must even in a busy environment

·Ability to build strong relationships with internal peers, working individually and collaboratively, and with research analysts alike

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
