Senior Data Scientist  

Wilmington, DE

As a Barclays Senior Data Scientist you will be responsible for building new Data Sciences capabilities by operationalizing Big Data platform. You will be monetizing new data assets, and leveraging various methodologies. You will provide resolutions and guiding development of best-in-class Data Science solutions. You will also collaborate with internal and external key stakeholders to identify new opportunities for profitable growth and business optimization.

What will you be doing?

•    Building new statistical models and Machine Learning algorithms that drive Marketing, Customer Experience, Credit Valuations and Operations programs
•    Leading data science projects from concept to deployment for delivering substantial business value through application of new-age AI-driven methodologies
•    You will be the subject-matter-expert in traditional statistical methods (Logistic/Linear Regression, GLM, Decision Trees) 
•    Utilizing Machine Learning algorithms (k-Means, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting etc.) and using programming languages such as Python and SAS
•    Driving initiatives in deep learning, natural language processing, recommender systems, next-best-action systems, speech analytics and computer vision 
•    Providing technical direction on key Data Science infrastructure decisions involving analytical toolkit, Big Data platform and cloud computing such as AWS

What we’re looking for:

•    Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline
•    5 years of experience in the financial industry such as credit card company
•    2+ years building Customer Level offer optimization models
•    3+ years building Machine Learning models, R, SAS with Python and AWS

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    PhD in a quantitative discipline  
•    Previous Financial Services experience
•    Building models that are implemented in digital channel
•    Basic Unix/Linux experience is a plus, such as WinScp/Filezilla, Putty, pscp, plink, SSH

River, along with a growing riverfront community of luxury apartments, shops, and 
restaurants. Additionally, the Wilmington train station is a short walk away making travel 
from New York and Washington, DC convenient.
