Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards

Overall Purpose of the Role
As a Sourcing Manager you will focus primarily on executing deals for the technology, predominantly within the Applications and Services categories. Providing category knowledge to manage commercial negotiations with third parties, liaise with key business users across Barclays to ensure favourable commercial terms which mitigate business risk. Focusing on the management of key stakeholders and to execute deals according to policy and agreed timelines. Support the development of a strategy to address the execution of each type of deal activity in a lean and the most optimal way for the firm. There is a genuine global dimension to the remit as well as substantial autonomy and responsibility. You will be interacting at senior level both internally and externally across Barclays business units globally and must possess relevant interpersonal skills.

Main duties and responsibilities
• You will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of deals primarily for Group Technology with third parties
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to agree strategy that will optimise supplier costs whilst enabling the business to maintain appropriate service levels and minimise risk 
• Leading commercial negotiations with relevant suppliers to ensure Barclays receive best value for money and associated cost savings
• Providing support to junior members of the sourcing team, to develop issue and manage RFIs and RFPs as appropriate to find the best sourcing solution that meets business and commercial requirements
• Ensuring that robust ongoing SLA’s are in place with our suppliers and that contracts are successfully handed over to supplier managers within Barclays and Management of key high value projects through internal governance and controls to completion
• Executing all projects in accordance with policy and evidenced by management assurance testing results
• Maintaining all data and documentation as required with high degree of accuracy as evidenced by data quality tool reporting

Basic Qualifications
• Extensive experience of leading sourcing projects within a complex environment, including development of category plans for creating pipeline of opportunities
• Good level of understanding of commercial law
• Ability to lead Simple/Medium complexity RFPs through to and including negotiation of complex contracts
• Stakeholder management – liaising at Director level therefore able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications
• Proven experience of leading sourcing projects within the technology category
• Knowledge of the procurement of software applications and hosting services  
• CIPS / Degree
• Experience working within Financial Services / large complex organisations
