As a Barclays Application Developer within the Risk, Finance and Treasury Technology team (RFT) you will work on business requests that involve gathering requirements and analysis and running pricing workflows. You will make configuration changes after liaising with other team members/ quants and analyze and present the results to stakeholders for signoff. You will work directly with front office trading, operations and other business users to collect requirements and provide regular status updates.

What will you be doing?

Assisting in all relevant stages of the project’s lifecycle including analysis, designing, testing & deployment/ go-live
Leading UAT testing and following through to closure any post implementation issues and continually assessing processes with a view to implement improvements
Identifying and acting on opportunities to deliver efficiencies, reduce timescales and improving flows between business areas
Ensuring compliance to internal and external (regulatory) standards within the team and ensuring that engineering activities conform to back standards and policies
Maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and building partnerships with level 1 and level 2 support and other IT areas
Defining comprehensive documentation including business requirements, process flow diagrams, testing plans and scenarios to input into business and technology procedures
Defining and interpreting requirements and roadmaps for effective working relationships with key stakeholders and sponsors within global business units and delivery teams
Providing regular communication of progress against individual task plans that roll-up into project plans and enabling decommissioning of legacy systems and platforms

What we’re looking for:

Bachelors’ degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics
Advanced Python (scripting), Excel, Data migration & Data/ Gap Analysis and SQL knowledge
Experience as a developer, business analyst, middle office analyst or trading support analyst
Team player attitude and excellent communication skills – verbal & written and an advocate of the control environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience working in investment banking environment and directly with traders/ trading or risk management systems, preferably in Fixed Income
Derivative product knowledge and previous experience in pricing and/or market risk management
Ability to apply evaluative judgement and analytical skills to operate effectively within a complex and changing environment

Our office is located in Marina Bay Financial Centre, which has been carefully crafted into a “city in a garden”.
