System Analyst

As a Barclays System Analyst within Markets Post Trade Technology, you will work closely with front office sponsors based in Singapore and Tokyo to document, design and deliver changes to the existing structures rates stack and other platforms in order to accommodate local markets currencies and business growth in APAC. The Rates Trade Capture Development team specifically focuses on delivery of changes to the Rates Trade Capture Systems, databases, reporting & publication services.

What will you be doing?

  • Assisting in all relevant stages of the project’s lifecycle including requirement gatherings, analysis, design, test & deployment/ go-live
  • Leading UAT testing and follow-through to closure any post implementation issues
  • Defining and communicating regularly the progress against individual task plans that roll-up into project plans
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities to deliver efficiencies, reduce timescales and improve flows between business areas
  • Maintaining positive stakeholder relationships and building partnerships with level 1 and level 2 support and other IT areas
  • Continually assessing processes with a view to implement improvements and providing level 3 support for day to day issues
  • Ensuring compliance to internal and external (regulatory) standards within the team

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelors’ degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics
  • Advanced technical skills in Java/ Spring and SQL database and a proven track record of managing high profile projects with tight deadlines
  • Experience in messaging frameworks like TIBCO. MQ Series, Solace etc. and understanding of basic excel macros and VBA scripts
  • Good communication skills with Front office user and gather requirements and implement changes independently

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Functional knowledge of C#
  • Structured rates/ exotics product knowledge
  • Experience working in investment banking environment and directly with traders/ trading preferably in Fixed Income

Our office is located in Marina Bay Financial Centre, which has been carefully crafted into a “city in a garden”.
