What will you be doing?
•     On behalf of a global financial services organization, plan software systems to meet business needs and perform requirement analysis and design. 
•    Develop high quality accurate strategic global 24/5 financial software systems, tools, and applications. 
•    Carry out software planning including sprints, change management, bug tracking, code reviews, documentation, and release processes. 
•    Design and implement systems and analyze for correctness, resilience, high availability and dependability. 
•    Perform Java/Scala development, functional programming, and Object Oriented and distributed programming. 
•    Develop Scala related technology stacks and carry out Scala testing. 
•    Leverage knowledge of Scala, SBT, AKKA and AKKA-testkit, BigData, Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Impala, ScalaTest, ScalaCheck, TDD, web-services and web dev, SQL, Linux, Bash, Solace, Nolio, TeamCity, and Jira to carry out system architecture and design for robust resilience. 
•    Adhere to Service Level Agreements and non-functional requirements.
•    Provide technical authority and carry out release sign off and release implementation support. 
•    Provide support for live global systems and analyze and resolve technical issues. 
•    Carry our technical support for vital business functions including Capital Risking Information Services. 
•    Perform quantitative analysis, problem identification, and resolution. 
•    Perform financial reporting including VAR, Profit & Loss, distributed aggregation, and distributed algorithms.  

What we’re looking for:
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and at least seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience as a Software Developer, Software Architect, Software Engineer, Software Consultant, or related occupation within the financial services industry.  

Must have at least one (1) year of experience with each of the following required skills: (1) Java, JVM, Scala, and Spark programming;  (2) BigData platforms; (3) Linux & Unix; (4) Quantitative libraries and mathematically oriented development;  (5) Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and HDFS to perform cluster distributed application development; (6) Enterprise messaging systems including Solace; (7) SQL database to design and implement schemas and data driven functionality; (8) Software development and analysis focusing on Present Value, Profit & Loss, valuations, models, asset classes, portfolios, foreign currency, rates, and Var.

You will be working at our 300/400 Jefferson Park, Whippany, New Jersey office location.
